Shop NowFiberglass That Actually Fits Your Truck
Every A.R.E. camper shell is molded to a specific make, model, and bed length — not a generic universal box you shim to fit. Body lines meet the cab, drip rails sit flush, and the paint code matches the sheet metal.
The result is a truck cap that looks like it left the factory that way — because our tooling is built around the same trucks your dealer sells.
Seals The Bed. Locks The Load.
Full-length rubber gaskets, sealed windows, and locking T-handles keep rain, dust, and sticky hands out of your bed. Whether it’s a job site of tools or a weekend of camping gear, the load stays where you put it.
Interior LED dome lighting and a headliner-ready shell make the cargo area a real, usable space — not just a covered box.
One Shell. Every Way You Use Your Truck.
Contractors run our V Series with roof racks and interior shelving. Overlanders spec the Overland cap with load bars and a rooftop tent. Weekend campers slide a mattress under the MX Series and hit the trailhead. Same platform, different life.
Pair your A.R.E. cap with a tonneau cover, bed slide, or ladder rack from our accessories catalog and you’ve got a truck that does two jobs — the one it was built for, and the one you actually bought it for.
Truck Owners. Real Trucks. Real Miles.
Reviews from A.R.E. customers who put their camper shells to work across job sites, back roads, and cross-country hauls.
“Bought the MX Series for my F-150 and the paint match is dead on — you can’t tell it wasn’t factory. Seals are tight, no leaks after a full winter of hauling.”
“Run the V Series aluminum cap on our work Silverado. Tools stay locked, dry, and organized. Two years in and it still looks new — best money we spent on the fleet.”
A.R.E. Camper Shell FAQ
What’s the difference between an A.R.E. MX and CX camper shell?
The MX Series is our flagship smooth-body fiberglass cap — frameless windows, sleek profile, and a taller cab-height finish for a modern look. The CX Classic is our value-focused fiberglass shell with sliding side windows and a proven cab-height cut, ideal for daily hauling.
Will an A.R.E. camper shell match my truck’s paint?
Yes. Every A.R.E. cap is finished with dealer-grade paint using OEM color codes for Ford, Chevy, GMC, Ram, and Toyota. The shell is color-matched to your factory sheet metal so the finished truck looks like it left the assembly line that way.
Does an A.R.E. truck cap keep water out of the bed?
Correctly installed on the matched truck, yes. Full-length rubber gaskets seal the cap to the bed rails, sealed side windows and rear door keep weather out, and locking T-handle hardware clamps everything down. It’s meant to be your truck’s second cabin, not a loose lid.
Can I put a roof rack or rooftop tent on my A.R.E. cap?
Our Overland and V Series shells are engineered for load-rated roof crossbars, and MX and CX shells accept accessory racks. Always follow the load rating listed for your specific model — heavy tent and gear loads should go on the Overland platform.
Is fiberglass or aluminum better for a truck cap?
Fiberglass A.R.E. caps (MX, CX) deliver a paint-matched, quiet, insulated finish that suits daily drivers and campers. Aluminum caps (V Series) are lighter, more forgiving of dents, and standard fit for contractors and commercial fleets. Pick by how you actually use the truck.
Which trucks do A.R.E. camper shells fit?
Our lineup covers Ford F-150, F-250, and Maverick; Chevy Silverado 1500; GMC Sierra; Ram 1500 and 2500; and Toyota Tacoma — plus midsize and full-size platforms across recent model years. Match the shell to your truck’s make, model, cab, and bed length at checkout.
